Homecoming at Alfred University has been celebrated in various ways since 1925.
The 1926 program exclaimed: "Last year it was an experiment - this year it is a tradition and Alfred's Annual Home Coming Day is something we can all look forward to each year. It is a time when Alumni and Friends of the University can return to 'their' school, renew old acquaintances, make new friends, and see their school's athletic teams in action."
That rings true even for today! We still celebrate Homecoming by visiting with alumni and friends, cheering on our athletes as they compete, and enjoying half-time of the football game when the Homecoming Queen is crowned (a tradition that began in 1964).
